Privacy policy
Effective 20 August 2026
NuaHome is designed around explicit household choices. Linking a phone does not silently turn on location, microphone, camera, screen sharing or app-activity access.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the NuaHome app, its connection to a NuaHome hub and, where enabled, its bounded handoff to NuaTalks. The household owner controls the hub, chooses who may pair a companion, and configures the available features. NuaTalks members control their own Circles, posts and participation.
Information the app may process
- Household and device labels used to pair the companion with the correct person and home.
- Optional approximate or precise location, journey history and saved-place events when Safety Mode is enabled.
- Optional device-health details such as battery level, network type and secure check-in time.
- Optional supported app names and time-used summaries. NuaHome does not collect passwords, keystrokes or the content typed inside another app.
- Questions sent to Nua, household alerts, acknowledgements, messages, captions and photos or videos a person deliberately selects.
- Camera, microphone or screen media only during a visible live session started by a participant and accepted by the recipient.
- Pairing identifiers and technical diagnostics needed to secure and operate the companion.
How information is used
Information is used only to provide the features selected by the household member: secure pairing, home status, private alerts, verified presence, Safety Mode, journeys and place alerts, device health, TV sharing, Nua Together and emergency escalation. Nua does not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking, and does not sell personal information.
NuaTalks private Circles
NuaTalks is a separate product and privacy boundary for private chats, calls, Circles, posts and Moments. NuaHome does not automatically receive NuaTalks membership or content. If a person deliberately shares something between the products, only the selected item and context needed for that action should cross the boundary; the destination and audience must be shown before sharing.
Live audio, video and screen sharing
Live media requires an explicit action and remains visibly marked while active. A recipient must accept a Nua Together invitation before a session can start. Live sessions are not recorded by default. Any future recording option must obtain separate agreement from every participant before recording begins.
Notifications
Device notifications use a generic alert so private household details do not appear in the push payload. After the app opens, private details are retrieved from the authenticated Nua inbox.
Service providers
Depending on the household configuration, Nua may use service providers for Apple push delivery, AI processing requested by the user, or encrypted cross-home live relay. Providers receive only the information needed for that function and are required to protect it consistently with this policy. The app contains no advertising SDK and does not permit providers to use Nua data for behavioural advertising.
Storage and retention
Most household records are stored by the paired NuaHome hub. Journey history can be set to 24 hours, three days or seven days. Turning Safety Mode off stops new monitoring and clears retained location from the companion flow. Live media is not retained by default. A copy deliberately handed to another Nua product follows that product's visible retention and deletion controls. Other hub records follow the retention controls selected by the household owner.
Your choices
Location precision, journey history, place alerts, device health, supported app activity, device alerts and emergency escalation can be changed separately in the app. Camera, microphone and screen access remain separate live-session permissions. You can unlink the device at any time, and the household owner can revoke it from NuaHome. NuaTalks provides its own Circle, report, block and deletion controls.
Children and household members
NuaHome is a household companion, not a children's app. A parent or guardian should configure a minor's device, explain active monitoring in age-appropriate language, and follow applicable consent and child-protection law. Private controls must not be used for covert surveillance.
Security
Pairing credentials are stored using native secure storage. Private requests use authenticated connections, and sensitive push content is fetched only after the app opens securely. No security system can be guaranteed perfect, so NuaHome should complement rather than replace emergency services or professional safety systems.
Access, deletion and questions
Use the app's Me screen to stop features or unlink the companion. Use the paired NuaHome hub to review or delete household records. Use the connected Nua Account controls for account requests. For privacy questions or a support-assisted request, email bapardi@gmail.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as Nua evolves. The effective date above will be updated, and material changes will be presented in the app or release notes where appropriate.
